This is a real live lost and found story, with reverberations. I like how the title weaves into and around the heartstrings.

Yeah, that reaching out for help can be a bitch, but oh what a relief to hear those words I got you. Super ending, Meg. My wife and I have experienced the joy and surprises of bird rescuing, only to suffer the heartbreak of setting them free. Thanks for bringing this back. I missed it the first time. I really enjoy you short fiction.
